What Is A Damage Waiver?
A damage waiver is an optional or required rental charge that may limit certain customer financial responsibility for accidental damage to rented equipment, subject to the terms, limitations, and exclusions of the rental agreement.
Damage Waiver Is Not Insurance
Damage waiver is not insurance and does not cover every type of loss, damage, or customer responsibility.
What May Not Be Covered
Examples of items or situations that may not be covered can include theft, loss, misuse, abuse, negligence, intentional damage, unauthorized use, overloading, improper operation, failure to secure equipment, prohibited uses, tires, tracks, attachments, glass, cables, hoses, accessories, wear items, or damage caused by ignoring instructions or warning signs. Actual coverage terms, limitations, and exclusions are controlled by the rental agreement.
Customer Responsibility
Customers remain responsible for charges not covered by the waiver, including excluded damage, loss, theft, missing items, late returns, and other applicable charges.
